Building resilient communities and promoting clean energy
Program Overview
Climate change is not a distant threat for Tanzanian communities; it is a daily reality of unpredictable rains, droughts, floods and shifting seasons that hit vulnerable communities hardest. EHCA's climate change mitigation program develops strategies to reduce these risks and increase resilience where it is needed most. Our approach works on two fronts. First, we build the adaptive capacity of communities so they can anticipate and withstand climate shocks. Second, we promote clean and sustainable energy sources that reduce emissions and dependence on fuels that degrade the environment.
On The Ground
Implementing community-based climate resilience programs, including early warning systems and disaster preparedness, that build adaptive capacity in vulnerable communities.
Promoting and facilitating the adoption of clean energy technologies in communities, reducing emissions while improving energy access and household well-being.
